In an effort to create a harvest image in the Romero Britto style, 5th grade students started with a one-point perspective drawing. Their next steps were to color everything leaving no white, outline everything in black and then to add pattern to the fields and skies.
The visual arts program at Woodlawn engages students in making, interpreting, and learning about art in a meaningful way. Students learn skills and concepts of art while growing as individuals. The art curriculum is designed to enrich core classes through integrated themes. Students experiment with a variety of media and technique. Students are encouraged to think and work like artists; focusing on the creative process and not the end product. Though we do end up with some amazing products!
